HSK – DIN 69893 Shank Detail

The Hollow Taper Shank (HSK) design was revolutionary because it addressed the limitations of traditional tool holders. By incorporating a hollow shank, the HSK tool holder could achieve a higher degree of precision and stability, essential for high-speed machining.

HSK tool holders have evolved to cater to the diverse needs of the machining industry. Their versatility is evident in the array of styles available, each tailored for specific applications and machinery. While they all share the foundational principles of the HSK design, the variations in styles ensure optimal performance under different conditions.

JPAC Precizions HSK Range

HSK-A: Standard design primarily used for milling and drilling applications.

HSK-B: Features a flange to accommodate automatic tool changers, ideal for milling.

HSK-C: A manual clamping design, often used for grinding operations.

HSK-D: Similar to HSK-C but with a different clamping mechanism, suitable for turning and grinding.

HSK-E: A slim design with a shorter taper, perfect for high-speed machining.

HSK-F: Combines features of HSK-A and HSK-E, designed for high-speed milling. For low-torque applications that require extreme spindle speeds, choose either type E or type F tool holders.
